VAN DUINEN (LOOMAN, WOOD) Eleanor Pearl Van Duinen "Grandma Ellie", passed into the loving arms of her Maker and Savior on July 11th, 2015. Although her last months were fraught with the physical struggles that come after 87 years of life, her days were filled with love and laughter.
Mother to three boys and world traveler thereafter, Ellie called Grand Rapids home, but loved spending time in both the mountains of Colorado and the beaches of Florida. She will be fondly remembered as a kind, generous person and fudge maker extraordinaire.
Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Van Duinen, her son, Douglas, her second husband, Joe Wood, and her brother, Herb Looman. She is survived by sons, David (Cindy) and Randy; brothers, Tony Anton Looman, Therm Looman; sisters, Maxine "Mickey" Gregory, Marilyn "Myrt" DenBoer, Karen Lowry; her grandchildren, Taylor, Molly, Jeremy, Kenny, Justin, Cristina; her great-grandchildren, Luke and Maggie; as well as many nieces, nephews and loved ones. We rejoice that her suffering is over as she has passed from her earthly body to eternal glory.
