Beth will be lovingly missed by her beloved husband of 19 years, Mike; mother, siblings; nieces, nephews, and friends. Beth was deeply committed to her family, faith, and work.
Beth’s grew up in Lacota, Michigan, graduated from South Haven High School, and obtained her Bachelor’s degree from Western Michigan University.
As Director of Human Resources for Grand Rapids Building Services for the past 18 years, she was admired for her professional expertise and the caring manner in which she did her job. Her program, “Christmas All Year Round,” was funded to help company employees through difficult times.
Beth was like the Pied Piper of Hamelin. She gathered, taught, encouraged, and delighted children of all ages, making each one feel special and loved.
Beth cared about people and would do anything she could for just about anybodywithout expecting anything in return.God blessed her with many talents, and she used those talents to touch and influence all she met, whether it was through her humor, music, or transfer of knowledge. Her gifts will live on as long as those who knew her do. Truth be told, they will live on even beyond. In years to come, her family, friends, co-workers, and acquaintances will find themselves passing on the gifts she gave them. At the moment they pass on the gift, they may not realize or remember its source, but their ability to do so will be because of a gift Beth shared with them. Beth believed each of us is a part of the other and so we must do our best to love and help one another. That was the testimony of her life.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 11, 2018, at Frederick Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park, 1000 East Beltline Ave NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49525, with visitation one hour prior to service, beginning at 2 p.m.
In honor of Beth and in lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Beth’s memory to Grand Valley Community of Christ Church or to a charity of your personal choice.
