I met Ella May through DKG and had the pleasure of serving as music chairpersons at the state level with her. We started meeting once a week for an evening meal and then worked on the many aspects of our responsibilities. Ella May was dedicated to any commitment she made and worked diligently to have everything ready for our members in a timely and professional way.

She was a warm and considerate person and I appreciated her friendship. One of the last times I talked with her she reminisced about a sail we took together when Tom and I had a sailboat on Lake Michigan. Ella May was always so appreciative of any remembrance we made to include her in an outing for lunch or just a visit. Proverbs 17:17 "A friend loveth at all times..."

When I became a member of DKG , Ella May anonymously passed on her lavalier pin to me . She gave it to Mary Tracy to present to me. I was not supposed to know who gave it to me, but I guessed so Mary told me I was correct.
I was deeply touched and I will cherish it always. She was definitely a beautiful lady.

My sincere condolences to the family of this wonderful woman. She was the most kind and proper person throughout my entire life, and was a great friend to my mother and father. She always visited my dad when he was recovering toward the end and showed style and grace while doing so. I have nothing but the warmest feelings for her and hope that she finds eternal rest with John.
