Emerald Lewis Dodds, age 96, of Grandville, Michigan, passed away Friday, April 24, 2026. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joy Elaine Dodds; daughters Ronda Dodds and Reda Meyer; sons-in-law Clayton Meyer, Robert Jousma, and Theodore Smith; and granddaughters April and Tina Smith. Emerald is survived by his children Dianna Jousma, Robin Smith, Allan (Barb) Dodds, Andrea (Pat) Hopkins; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by family and friends.
Emerald spent 36 years working for Steelcase and devoted his time helping friends, family and his church. He was a true believer in God and looked forward to being reunited with his wife, Joy.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, April 30, 2026 at Cook Memorial Chapel (East Building), 4235 Prairie St. SW, Grandville, MI 49418. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, May 1, 2026 at Cook Memorial Chapel, with visitation from 10-11 a.m. prior to service.
