

Bo was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, five sisters and a son.
He is survived by his devoted and loving wife Marge of 60 years; his daughter Deborah (Dan) DeHaan, sons Erwin Jr. “Sam” (Shelley), David (Cindy) Coykendall; granddaughters Mindy Shears, Samantha Brandow and Candace Coykendall; great-grandchildren Madisyn, Paige and Collin Gray; and several nieces and nephews.
Bo was an active member of the 40 et 8 Voiture 553 and held several offices throughout the years in both the local and national 40 et 8. In 1989 he held the highest office in the State of Grand Chef de Gare. In the Nationals, he held office of Sous Chef de Chemin de Fer, and traveled throughout the United States, including Alaska and to Germany. He was a loyal volunteer at the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans for many years. Bo was a veteran of the Korean conflict and served in the 1st Battalion 4th Infantry Army. He retired from the Chesapeake & Ohio Railway (CSX) after 34 years of service. Bo loved his furry companions Louie and Angie and their antics. Bo also enjoyed golfing, traveling and helping anyone who asked. He could never say “no.”
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 18 at the Cook Memorial Chapel (East building), 4235 Prairie SW, Grandville with visitation one hour prior to service on Monday. The family will receive relatives and friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the Cook Funeral Home (West building) in Grandville.
