

Estella “Skip” Rose Oosterink, age 92, went to be with her Lord Sunday, January 1, 2023. Skip was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Oosterink; parents Elmer and Stella Buchholz; siblings Elmer Buchholz, Patsy Thompson, and twin brothers. She will be remembered by her brother, Henry (Elaine) Buchholz, and her children Sharon (Ronald) Deering, Denise (Mark) Mollenhauer, Marie (Richard) Groot, Roger D. Oosterink, Danielle (Timothy) Smith, Bonnie (Len) Null; 19 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and friends. The family would like to express a special thank you to Phyllis Cable and Deah Cole for being there for her.
Skip enjoyed camping with her grandchildren and was recently learning how to finger knit. She worked for many years as a paraprofessional with the Jenison Public Schools. She loved going to church and visiting with friends and was quite active in her church until recently.
Visitation with friends and relatives will take place from 2–4 p.m. and 6–8 p.m. on Friday, January 6, 2023, at Cook Funeral Home (West Building), 4235 Prairie SW, Grandville, MI 49418. A celebration of Skip’s life will commence at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 7, 2023, with visitation one-hour prior, at Cook Memorial Chapel (East Building). In honor of Skip and in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hope Water International (www.hopewaterinternational.org). Interment will be at Georgetown Cemetery.
