

Ethel Mae Karsten, age 98, passed away peacefully Monday, July 8, 2024 with her family by her side. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray; son, Rex; and grandson-in-law, Kenny Rockwell. Ethel will be lovingly remembered by her son, Jeff (Rose) Karsten; daughter-in-law, Laurie Karsten; grandchildren Erin Rockwell (Matt Mayotte), Nate (Jennifer) Karsten, Kellan (Kristina) Karsten, Kristen (Michael) Landau, and Kali (Jared) Chappelear. She enjoyed being a great-grandmother to Jayden Rockwell, Lillian Karsten, Kora Karsten, Kaiden Karsten, Konnor Karsten, Rex Landau, Ridge Landau, Jack Chappelear, and Edward Chappelear. She had a special friend in Joan Parker.
Ethel was a longtime member of First Reformed Church of Grandville. She enjoyed a long, active life, was a wonderful mom, grandmother, and friend to many. She was an avid golfer, but more importantly, a hero to her family. She will be greatly missed.

Funeral services will be held 4 p.m. Monday, July 15, 2024 at Cook Memorial Chapel, 4235 Prairie St. SW, Grandville, Michigan (East Building). Visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 3 p.m. Rev. Matt Cook will be officiating. Interment will be at Grandville Cemetery. In honor of Ethel, contributions may be made to Faith Hospice - Trillium Woods or American Cancer Society.
