

Ethel was born April 1, 1914 in Grand Rapids to Peter A. and Ethel M. Van Oort. She graduated from Creston High in 1933 and had been a member of Berean Baptist Church for 80 years. She had a love for the Lord, church and mission ministry.
Ethel was preceded in death by husband, Wilbur Van Kuiken, her nephew, Barry Horling, and her sister and brothers, Doris Horling, Gene, Will, Bud, and Art Van Oort.
She will be deeply missed by her daughters, Marilyn Van Kuiken, and Carol Robert Murr; grandchildren, Tim Marla Murr, Mark Linda Murr, and Melody Gary DuDois; great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Dorothea Van Oort, and Lottie Van Oort; special nieces and nephews, Ron and Doris Horling, Ed Horling, and Marijo Horling; special friend, Linda Case; and many "adopted" grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held Wednesday, 11 a.m. at her church, Berean Baptist Church, 1574 Coit NE, with Pastor Duane Duhon officiating. Interment will be at Fairplains Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet Ethel's family Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Van Strien Creston Chapel, 1833 Plainfield NE.
