Eugene was an engineer, director of engineering, and director of marketing for Lear Siegler, Inc. He specialized in navigation systems and was a participant in several aerospace projects, including the Apollo 11 mission as project leader for the lunar landing module navigation systems. He patented a gyroscope navigation system that is still in use today.
Eugene was an enthusiastic lover of the outdoors and the glory of nature as provided by God. He infused the love of nature and curiosity in his children through camping, sailing, hiking, fishing, hunting, skiing, and more—together—and always as a family. He taught his children the loyalty and honor of God, country, and family by living those values daily. His wife, Mary, was his best friend, and his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were the light of his life.
