

Evangeline Anne (Wessman) Peterson, age 101, went peacefully to her Heavenly home, Thursday, December 17, 2015. She was preceded in death by her husband, David G. Peterson; her son, David R. Peterson; her daughter, Susan Frisby-Ball; her parents, Robert Sr. and Anna Wessman; and her siblings, Robert Wessman, Jr., Kenneth Wessman, Duane Wessman, Lorraine Weidelich, and Virginia Herringa.
Evangeline will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Karen and Rodney Whitaker; her grandchildren, Wendi Whitaker, Lisa (Jason) Koedyker, David (Jodi) Frisby; her great-grandchildren, Emma Frisby, Caedmon Frisby, Ory Koedyker, Asher Frisby and Evangelyn Koedyker; and many nieces and nephews.
Evangeline played the organ from a young age and continued to play in church throughout her adult life. She faithfully followed the Detroit Tigers and stayed up on the player trades and the standings throughout the season. She loved being with and hearing about the lives of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Throughout her life she served in church as a Sunday School teacher. Evangeline and her husband, David, were dedicated to their faith in God, and the life and faith of their family.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, December 19, at Resurrection Life Church in the Chapel, 5100 Ivanrest Ave. in Grandville. Visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 10 a.m. at the church. Rev. Dean Wheeler will officiate.
