Evelyn Meengs

MEENGS Tacoma/Zuiderveen – Evelyn Meengs, age 86, of Byron Center, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, October 1, 2010. She was preceded in death by her husband, Merle Meengs; first husband, Ken Zuiderveen, Sr.; daughter, Patricia Helms; and son-in-law, David Schutte. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Conroy Joanie Zuiderveen, Kenneth Beth Zuiderveen, Sharon Todd Ouellette, Margien Keith Hendricks, Marianne Glenn Coughenour, and Dawn James Fennema; step-children, Ronald Phis Meengs, David Mary Meengs, Jan Vic Spaanstra, Debra Arlin Brock, Richard Leona Meengs, and Robert Cindy Meengs; sister, Marjorie Stan Koster; son-in-law, Evart Marcia Helms; 37 grandchildren and 49 great grandchildren; in-laws, Alice Henry Dekker, Ruth Buning, John Marilyn Zuiderveen, and Norma Bob Karsten; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

The funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday at the Second Christian Reformed Church of Byron Center, 7588 Byron Center Ave SW with Pastor John Douma officiating. Interment will be at Aetna Township Cemetery, Falmouth, MI.

The family will meet with relatives and friends on Sunday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the Byron Center Chapel of Cook Funeral Home, 2067 – 84th SW. Memorial contributions may be made to Aetna Christian Reformed Church or Second Christian Reformed Church of Byron Center. John 6:47 – "I tell you the truth, he who believes, has everlasting life."
