She was born on November 19, 1924 to Mabel and Fred Dutch in Chicago, Illinois. After being raised in the heart of Chicago, Illinois, she and her family to moved to Holland, Michigan in 1942, where she met her husband, Clarence Quist, while working together at Holland Furnace Co. during WW Il. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Clarence; daughter, Leslie; mother, Mabel; and sister, Lucille Burke.
She is survived by her children Valerie Valentine, Douglas (Jeanne) Quist, Bonnie Quist, and S. Quist; eight grandchildren Todd, Randy, Heather, Patrick, Sally, Emily, Lisa, and Kerry; six great-grandchildren; and nephew, Dennis (Laura) Burke of Illinois.
Frances was known as hardworking, giving, upbeat, innovative, and a collector of various items such as old, new, and defunct candy wrappers.
She was a strong believer in God and Jesus Christ and was always certain that "The Lord Would Provide."
There will be a one hour visitation 11 a.m. Monday, September 15, 2025, Cook Memorial Chapel, 4235 Prairie St. SW, Grandville, MI 49418, followed by a graveside service. flowers are welcomed, or consider a donation in Frances' name to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
