Fred Berghorst

Fred was preceded in death by three sisters, Grace Forrest Salisbury, Stella Hank Lurtsema, and Marilyn Schut; one stepbrother Peter Betsy Cotts; one stepsister Ann Dalman; one brother-in-law Cobb Vanden Bosch; one stepsister-in-law Gladys Cotts.

Mr. Berghorst was the founder of Berghorst Food Service in 1942 and also Berghorst Quality Built Homes in 1955.

Fred received Jesus Christ as his personal Savior when he was 12 years old and has served faithfully since.

He is survived by one daughter Joy Roger Ver Lee; one son Jerry Carol Berghorst; grandchildren, Keith Robyn Littlepage, Scott Roshelle Rawlings, Debra Kevin Kumko, Greg Merri Berghorst, Dawn Jim Brumels; and 11 great grandchildren.

Also surviving are two sisters, Anna Vanden Bosch and Katy Ed Hinken; one brother-in-law Sharon Schut; three stepbrothers, Jake Cotts, Louis Grada Cotts, and John Jeanette Cotts; one stepsister Henrietta Clarence; one stepbrother-in-law Corie Dalman.

The funeral service will be held Thursday 11 a.m. at the Harvest Baptist Church 5444 Pleasant Ave., Hudsonville, MI 49426 with Pastor George Kratochvil, Pastor Mike Grooms, and Pastor Bill Munson officiating.

Interment will be in Georgetown Cemetery.

The family will meet with relatives and friends Wednesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. from the Cook Funeral Home, Grandville 4235 Prairie St. SW - west building.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Michigan or Harvest Baptist Church Building Program.
