Frederick is survived by his wife Rosina Hinton Smith; his children Brian Catherine of Glasgow, Scotland, Margaret Ron Overholt, Catherine Curt Remer; his only grandchild Ronald Melissa Gorman; his sisters in Scotland; his favorite sister-in-law Cathie Reid; his many nieces and nephews; and Katie his Golden Retriever.
He was proud to have served in the British Military in The Black Watch, a special infantry regiment. He retired from Steelcase after 18 years of dedicated service.
