
Mr. Patterson fought in the Korean War and was honorably discharged. He was later employed by General Motors for 18.8 years retiring in August of 1997. Gail was active in the National Rifle Association, Loyal Order of the Moose, South Kent Sportsman Club and the 25th Infantry Division Association - Tropical Lightening where he was an active advocate for the Republic of Korea War Service Medal. Mr. Patterson enjoyed target shooting and spending time with his close friends. We would especially like to thank his very special nurse Patty for her wonderful attention and caring words of encouragement during his battle with cancer.
There will be no funeral service at Mr. Patterson’s request. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Gail was preceded in death by his parents Gail F. and Marguerite M. Patterson. Surviving is one daughter, Elaine Robert Kyle; two grandchildren, James and Jennifer all of Battle Creek; also surviving is one sister, Cherylle James Beck of Florida; one brother, Robert Joyce Patterson of Grandville; two special nephews, Robb Kathy Patterson of Kalamazoo and Craig Lynn Patterson of Kentwood.
