I would not be who I am or where I am today were it not for Gene Grit. This man led me to Jesus in the most powerful way--by living his life as a giant arrow pointing to God. He preached the gospel at all times, using words only when necessary. You have taught me so much Gene and Dar and I will always love you in a deep way. Gene has fought the good fight, he has run hard the race that was marked out for him, and now he is cheering us all onward to push hard in the same race we find ourselves in. I will see you soon brother.

Gene & Dar always took time to come visit with us when we were home in Grandville at mom and dad's. Always chatty and curious, Gene kept the conversation going....mostly because he was interested in people and had so much good to share. His self-less life was an inspiration to my parents who often marveled at his generosity of his time, especially. What an impact he made on his world!

I had the pleasure of meeting and working with Gene several years ago. Gene was always a very sincere and positive individual. Gene created alot of fond memories for everyone he was associated with.

Dar & Family, We wanted to express our sincere sympathy and let you know that we are praying for you during this difficult time. Gene was always a pleasure to talk to and his heart for young people was wonderful. We were so glad that we could talk to him this fall when you visited our farm market. What a blessing he was to so many people. His love of our Lord showed through his actions and speech! We were blessed to know him and will miss him very much!

Hi Randy, We want to send our condolences for your loss. You had a great father who I remember well from softball. He was a great man and we feel for your loss. I will all ways remember your memory of him plowing in your driveway in the winter. Sure he laughed very hard passing by your house. Again Randy, so sorry for your loss. Hope your Mom is doing OK. Besides riding on Dar's bus (507) and Dawn's bus (390) & (0-42) I have many great memories of Gene such as, going to watch Grandville Fire Fighters vs the Grandville Police Dept. softball gamesand sitting with Gene on the bench. One of my Favorite memories was staying at Gene and Dars's house because my parents had a family emergency. Dar introduced me to Butter on Blueberry toasted pop tarts. Dar, Dawn and Family, you will be in my families Thoughts and Prayers.
