Wilma and Family, Jackie and I want to express our sympathy at the sudden loss of Jerry.
I also want to share my gratitude for inviting us to hear a missionary during Wealthy Street Baptist's missionary conference, the fall of 1970. Little did we know that that evening with "Aunt Bertha Shooks" would start opening the door for me to become a missionary on Children's Bible Hour, beginning in September of 1971. For 25 years, I was the only audio engineer. Then I quit cutting recording tape to edit using a computer and needed someone else to help me learn how to edit on about 7 different systems. The first system had 3 hard-drives and the biggest was 2 gigabytes.
I was honored with a mantle clock after 20 years, a wrist watch after 30 and a Plaque and a Crystal at 44 years when I retired. Since then, I volunteer one day a week to play with my toys and provide product for listeners. I was recently honored with a fancy AM-FM radio for 50 years of service.
My prayer is that all of you sense the presence of God's hand, the one that just pruned away to Heaven, the "Love of your life (John 15:1)."

I have many as a kid including Saturday morning bowling, him blowing up big rafts at the beach without a pump, going to gun and knife shows, playing catch in the front yard. I was proud of him for the work he put into getting his BSW from Grand Valley in the 90’s. For his 80th birthday this May we took him axe throwing and had a great time. He was always up for something new. He even bought a kayak this year to use on the lake. Dad didn’t have an easy life but I never heard him complain about anything. He worked tirelessly to provide for his family and loved mom with all his heart. He was a great dad and provided us a great role model in how to be selfless and serve. Thank you dad.
