Geraldine "Jerry" Hess

On Monday, March 21, 2022, Geraldine “Jerry” Frances Hess passed away at the age of 88, while surrounded by her family. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Daniel F. Hess; parents John and Frances Nelson; and son, Michael Daniel Hess. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters Sherry (Joseph) Richards, Michelle (nee. Hess) Blouw, Dawn Hess; grandchildren Kelli (Jeff) Watkins, Jamie (Rustin) Scott; great-grandchildren Elliot, Mason, Charlie, Gunner; siblings Shirley (Roy) Keiser, John (Connie) Nelson; sister-in-law, Waneta Meyers; and many extended family and friends.

Jerry was a kind and gentle person who didn’t have a mean bone in her body. She loved her family dearly and was known as the best mom, grandma, and great-grandma. One favorite memory was that of family time spent at the cottage on Lincoln Lake where Jerry and Dan resided. Jerry was especially proud to be the owner of her very own, brand new pontoon boat. She and Dan loved to travel in their motorhome to Florida, Arizona, Texas, and anywhere else they desired. She loved her family and they will cherish the time they had together.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, March 26, 2022 at Cook Memorial Chapel (East building), 4235 Prairie St. SW, Grandville, MI 49418, with visitation from 11 a.m.-12:45 p.m. prior to the service. In memory of Jerry and in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, The National Emphysema Foundation, or Careline Hospice.
