I never met Gil personally, but I know several members of his family. My brother-in-law, Doug, was a good friend of his and told stories of their adventures in Florida. He certianly had many dedicated friends that cared very much about him and remained in contact even when he moved back to Michigan. My prayers go out to his family and may they feel the comfort of God during this very difficult time.

MargeMom, Shirley, Jan, Vereen, We just want to say Thank You, for the 18 years of combining your families with ours. Gil,having spent most of this time in Fl. limts my memories of him to 40 plus years ago when we were in H.S together. He was the good, clean cut, nice guy that everyone liked. Then to see him again as the man that he had become, so devoted to his family and his Lord, I realized then that our family was being blessed with another good brother, sisters and a very special Mom. Please always know that Gil stands as a testement to the wonderful family that raised him to be the special person he was to all who knew him.

I did not know Gil very well, but last fall when I was recovering from surgery and also grieving the loss of my companion dog, he shared his memories of his own dogs and then offered to check out an English Mastiff pup that I was interested in since I knew little of the breed. I was very touched at such a thoughtful gesture to a hurting soul whom he did not know well. He seemed a wonderful person and my heart goes out to his family and friends for their loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Knowing Gil these last few years has been a great experience. Gil was so free in sharing his faith. Having a friendship built around the Lord was indeed special. I had the privlidge of meeting much of his family this June and I now see why he took such pride in them. Our condolences to his entire family. We share your grief but also share in the knowledge that we shall walk with Gil again.

To Gil's family, my deepest sympathy. I ran into someone the other day and asked if they had heard from him and I was informed he had passed away. In the early 90's he and Theresa opened their hearts to my young son and myself as we were going through a very difficult time. They made our lives brighter and better by knowing both of them. Gil taught my then 2 year old son how not to be afraid of Mickey & Minnie, the 2 biggest dogs I'd ever seen in my life. Gil will forever have a special place in my heart for the words of wisdom, encouragement and support he offered to me in a big brother kind of way. He even gave me the big brother advice when I purchased my first home back in l994 giving the place the once over and a thorough inspection., My son and I have found memories of many hours that we were welcomed and blessed to be in his home. Sorry this is so late.
