Gladys E. Gommesen

GOMMESEN - Gladys E. Gommesen, age 72, enjoyed a joyous reunion in heaven with her loving husband Donald W. and precious grandson John Michael on Saturday, January 1, 2000. Jesus her savior was the first to greet her. She was a godly mother to her four children, Sheryl Lemons of Kentwood, Rev. Donald R. Kathy Gommesen of Enfield, CT, Mark Andrea Gommesen of Carrollton, TX, and Michael Debra Gommesen of Wyoming, MI. She was also the proud grandmother of 19 grandchildren. She has three sisters, Sylvia Dan Heintzelman of KY, Helen Jake Doorn of FL, and Evelyn Reed Martin of MI who will miss her dearly. Her brother Herman Bud VanStedum greeted her in heaven. Her special friend Jerry Miller will also miss her. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Cook Memorial Chapel east building, with Rev. David Smith officiating. Inurnment will be in Rest Lawn Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of West Michigan. The family will meet relatives and friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Grandville Chapel of Cook Funeral Home, Inc. west building, 4235 Prairie St. SW.
