Gloria Jean Jonker

JONKER (BOBELDYK) Gloria Jean Jonker, age 70, went home to be with her Lord, Wednesday, March 26, 2014. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter Bobeldyk and June Bobeldyk-Heslinga and her sister-in-law, Joy Grzeszak.

Gloria will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 47 years, Rob Jonker; her children, Linda (Duane) Visser, Diane (Tim) Seeley, Steve (Sue) Jonker, Randy (Holly) Jonker; her grandchildren, Colin, Alyssa and Rylee Visser, Samantha and Joshua Seeley, Dominick and Tia Jonker, Emma, Mason and Isaac Jonker; her siblings, Betty (Harley) Derks, Jim (Mindy) Bobeldyk; her step-sisters, Sue (Steve) Willard, Colleen (John) VanOcker; her brothers- and sisters-in-law, Dave (Judy) Jonker, Len (Joy) Jonker, Mary (Russ) Bolitho, John (Barb) Jonker, and Jim Grzeszak; and her many nieces and nephews.

Gloria graduated from Creston High School and worked at Klingmans and Stahl Buick. She also worked as the secretary for the family business, Jonker Land Surveying. For most of her life, she was a homemaker. Gloria loved to read and watch sports, especially the Tigers.

A time for relatives and friends to visit with Gloria's family will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 PM Tuesday at Cook Funeral Home in Byron Center, 2067 84th St. SW. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Wednesday, April 2, 2014, at First Christian Reformed Church in Byron Center, 2450 85th St. SW, with visitation prior to the service beginning at 10 AM. Interment will be at Winchester Cemetery. In honor of Gloria, contributions may be made to Byron Center Christian School Foundation.
