

Gordon John Dykema, age 82, went to be with his Lord Tuesday, April 18, 2023. Gordon was preceded in death by his parents John and Gertrude Dykema; parents-in-law Paul and Ruth Isenga; sibling, Ken Dykema; in-laws Fred Behrens, Elaine Dykema, Harvey VanDyke, Bonnie Dykema, Lewis Isenga; and great-grandchild, Myron Dykema. He will be remembered by his wife of 61 years, Gloria Dykema; children Steve (Beth) Dykema, Lisa (Doug) Walters, Brian (Holli) Dykema; grandchildren Jordon (Alecia) Walters, Kyle Dykema, Justin (Ta’Shara) Dykema, Logan Walters, Libby (Brandon) Haan, Emily (Andrew) Bult, Paul (Samantha) Dykema, Abigail (Theodore) Popham, Aaron Dykema, Leah (Tennison) Hoffmann, Seth Dykema, Luke Dykema, Rachel Dykema, Levi Dykema; great-grandchildren Landon Walters, Declan Popham, Ella Walters, Anneke Dykema, Baby Haan due in July; siblings Tressa Behrens, Harvey Dykema, Harriet Van Dyke, Jane (Larry) Kerkstra; in-laws Linda Isenga, Terry (Kristy) Isenga, Ellen Isenga; many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Gordon was a railroad man through and through, having worked for the C&O Railroad (CSX) at the Wyoming Yard for 42 years, retiring in 2002. In retirement, Gordon enjoyed spending time and traveling with Gloria, spending time with grandchildren and attending their events, working around his property, and wintering in Arizona.
Gordon was under the loving care of Gloria, with help from the family, the last five years.
Following Gordon’s wishes, a Private Family Celebration of Gordon’s Life will commence at a date and time to be determined. Pastor Dave TenClay of Bauer Christian Reformed Church will be officiating. In honor of Gordon and in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Right to Life of Michigan. Interment will be at Georgetown Cemetery.
