Grace Grit

GRIT POUTSMA - Grace Grit, age 86, went home to be with her Lord, Saturday, August 15, 2009. Grace was active in Women's Ministry for many years at the Reformed Church of Corinth where she was a life member. She also worked as the church secretary during the 1960's. Grace was a wonderful homemaker and mother.

She was preceded in death by her siblings and siblings-in-laws, Angie Pete DeKraker, Henry Grit, Art Vos, Duane Baker, Don Grit, and Rachel Brown. Grace will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 66 years, Jacob Grit; her children, Roland "Rol" Victoria Grit, Carole Jerald Engelsman, her 6 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren; her siblings, Joanne Grit of NC, Gertie Vos; her siblings-in-laws, Etta Baker of FL, Mary Howie Wilson of FL, Robert Jo Grit, Patricia EJ Durham of NC, Darlene Grit of NC.

A time for relatives and friends to visit with Grace's family will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Cook Funeral Home in Byron Center, 2067 – 84th St. SW. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at the Cook Funeral Home. Rev. Warren Burgess will be officiating. Interment will be at Winchester Cemetery.
