Grace Laura Musch, age 96 of Hudsonville, was welcomed into the arms of Jesus Tuesday, August 16, 2022, after a brief illness. Grace was born April 24, 1926, in Akron, Ohio, to Charles and Laura (Nichols) DeGruchy, and grew up in nearby Silver Lake. Grace attended the University of Michigan to become a dental hygienist, and there she met her future husband, Jack Musch, whom she married in 1946. She devoted herself to raising their four children, and in later years was a much loved teacher's aide at Maplewood Elementary in Jenison. She was a member of Ridgewood Christian Reformed Church for 56 years, where she sang in the choir and participated in women’s Bible studies.
Grace was preceded in death in 2015 by her beloved husband, Jack; her parents; sister, Joan (Duane) Marsh; sister-in-law, Marva (Gerald) DeVries; brothers-in-law Donald and John Musch; and great-grandson, Hunter Kerkstra. She is survived by her children Laura (Doug) Aldrink, Tom (Jill) Musch, Ruth (Tim) Dillon, and Dave (Jan) Musch; ten grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and one yet to be born; sisters-in-law Nella (Norm) Boeve and Salome Musch; several nieces and nephews.
Grace’s graveside service will be held 3 p.m. Tuesday, August 23, 2022 at Georgetown Cemetery, 6938 28th Ave., Jenison. Funeral services will be held at 5 p.m. Tuesday, August 23 at Cook Memorial Chapel, 4235 Prairie St. SW, Grandville, MI 49418, with Rev. Doug Aldrink officiating. Friends may greet the family at 4 p.m. prior to the service.
