

Harold was born January 16, 1929 in Grand Rapids to James and Sadie (Roker) Kooman. He was a long-standing member of First Reformed Church of Grandville. Harold was the owner and operator of West Michigan Glass for many years and enjoyed a long career in construction. He had a love for the outdoors that included hunting. Harold served his country faithfully with the Naval Reserve and the Coast Guard Auxiliary.
He will be deeply missed by his wife of 66 years, Joyce I. (Potter) Kooman; daughter and son-in-law, Linda L. and Scott Johnson; granddaughter, Julie (Sergei) Petrenko; great-grandchildren, Sara, Laura, Ivan, and Nadia; brothers, Robert (Arlene) Kooman, and James (Betty) Kooman; brother-in-law, John Timmer; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, March 12, 2018 at the Cook Memorial Chapel (East Building), 4235 Prairie, S.W., Grandville with Pastor Bud Pratt officiating. Interment will be at Grandville Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet Harold’s family Sunday, March 11, 2018 from 6 - 8 p.m. at the Cook Funeral Home (West Building) and Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of his services at the chapel.
