Henry Mark Sneller, age 74, went to be with his Lord on Friday, January 8, 2021. “Mark,” as he was known, was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Sneller (Bultema); mother and father Ruth (VandenBosch) and Gilbert Sneller; and sister-in-law, Grace Sneller. He will be forever remembered by his children, grandchildren and great-granddaughter: Kristin (Rick) Bredeweg and their children, Noah Jamison and Sophia Marie; Nick (Megan) Sneller and their children Christian Nicholas (Paige) Drenth and their new daughter, Britta Elaine, Christian Taylor (Casey) Tafelsky, Raven Lee, Gabriel James, and Zoe Elizabeth Sneller; Katherine Sneller and her son, Jude Alexzander; his brothers Gary and Brent (Monica) Sneller; sisters Deb (Larry) VandePol and Dawn Sneller; his brothers- and sisters-in-law Nancy (Oz) Seabert and Loie Lanting, and Ed (Mary) and Al (Martha) Bultema; and many special nieces, nephews, and friends.
Shortly after marrying Ruth, Mark was drafted into the U.S. Army where he served from 1968-1972, and once back home to Grand Rapids, he became a loyal employee for 36 years at Steelcase. Mark was known to his family and friends as strong-headed and stubborn, yet charming and gentle, vocal, funny, and a complete gear-headed man who had a need for speed. For all who knew him, he taught the value of having a good work ethic, to never give less than 100% of yourself, how to fall in love with anything that has a loud, fast, and powerful motor, the joy of having an outside green thumb and he was known for having one of the most well-manicured lawns in Grandville. The family is missing him deeply, but yet are filled with knowing that without a doubt he is basking in God’s amazing glory, all the while holding the hand of his wife of fifty years.
Visitation with family and relatives will take place at Hudsonville Reformed Church, 3950 Highland Drive, Hudsonville, MI 49426 on Sunday, January 17, 2021 from 3-5 PM. A Celebration of Mark’s Life will take place immediately following at 5 PM with Pastor Dale Fopma and Pastor Don VanSlyke officiating. In honor of Mark and in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to LifeGR (LifeGR.org) and Faith Hospice. Interment will be at Kent Memorial Gardens. The family welcomes memories and messages in their guest book online at www.cookcaresgrandville.com.
