Nash Paiz was born February 1, 1941 and passed away March 19, 2023. He was preceded in death by his parents Apolonia and Sotero Paiz; wife, Peggy Paiz; son, Randy Childs; and grandchildren Norman Childs and Kayleigh Paiz.
Nash proudly served in the Army during the Vietnam Era as a paratrooper. Returning home, he worked at Steelcase for 35 years, proudly maintaining a perfect attendance record for 25 of those years. After retiring, his hobbies of golf, photography, bowling, and playing cards were not enough to keep Nash busy. He re-entered the workforce, eventually settling in at Toyota in San Antonio, Texas, for eight years.
As busy as Nash was, he was proud of his family who have survived him: wife, Elisa, and her children Laurie (Ruben) Rodriguez, Raul (Sylvia) Zuninga, Norma (Johnny) Zuninga; his children Rick (Deb) Childs, Will (Deb) Paiz, Phil (Julie) Paiz, Brenda (Scot) Raymor, Ernie (Amanda) Paiz; daughter-in-law, Debbie Childs; siblings Mary Vasquez Sotero Paiz, Lila Garcia, Cooie (Francis) Paiz, Suzie Ante, and Luisa Castillo; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
A graveside service will be held 10 a.m. Friday, March 31, 2023 at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens (2894 Patterson Ave. SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49512). A celebration of his life will be held from 6-8 p.m. on May 20, 2023 at Pinery Park Pavillion (2301 De Hoop Ave., Wyoming, MI 49509).
