Iris N. Allen

ALLEN Mrs. Iris N. (Karel) Allen, age 89, passed away Monday, July 4, 2011. Iris was born August 3, 1921 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dene; her parents, Peter and Evelyn Karel; and brother, Leslie G. Karel.

She is survived by her children, Kathy (Max) Scholz, Tammy (Tony) Glad, and David (Arlene) Allen; seven grandchildren, Meredith (Tom) Eaton, Kailee (Philip) Capriglione, Bradley (Kristin) Allen, Matthew Scholz, Christopher Allen, Jonathan Scholz, and Eric Allen; four great grandchildren, Macy and Avery Eaton, and Sam and Andrew Allen; sisters, Patricia (Brian) Drake, and Janice Barr; sister-in-law, Nancy Mack; several nieces and nephews; and a dear friend Mary Bouley. Iris was a compassionate and loving mother who took pride in her home and the loving relationship of her family.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, 12 PM, at the Cook Memorial Chapel, 4235 Prairie SW, Grandville, with Pastor Dennis Gilbert officiating. Relatives and friends may meet her family Tuesday from 11 AM until the time of her service. Her family welcomes memories and messages in their guest book online at www.cookfamilycares.com.
