

Jack Henry Allen, age 93, most recently of Grandville, Michigan went to his forever home on September 10, 2025. He was born June 30, 1932 in Downsville, Louisiana to Edward and Leona Allen. He was the fourth of ten born to Edward and Leona Allen.
Jack married Hilda Jean Emerson May 10, 1958. They welcomed two children Stephen Wade Allen and Vicki Lou Allen.
Jack loved life. He loved Jesus. He had a passion for helping and serving his family, church family, and others in the community. He served his country in the U.S. Army - April 1952-1954.
Some highlights in Jack's life... He helped his parents farm, plant, harvest and go to market. He placed third in a high school spelling bee in North Louisiana. Jack earned a bachelor of science degree in Accounting. He worked as a carpenter - hanging drywall, and teaching his brothers, brother-in-law, and many others the trade of drywall carpentry.
Some favorite things that Jack enjoyed (this list was written by Jack in a Legacy notebook)... His family,
travel to visit kinfolk, woodcrafts, making trinkets, reading new books, re-reading serious publications,
trying new foods, visiting rare events, sharing knowledge, and sharing wealth as needed. One of his proudest accomplishments was being able to share his resources with his family.
Jack overcame many fragile moments in life even in the last seven years of his life. He survived lymphoma, survived a fractured neck, a re-fracture of his neck and lower back, dementia. He was a joy-filled dementia patient.
Jack was preceded in death by Edward and Leona Allen, O.K. Allen, Tee Doster, Juanita Rich, Bessie Mae Acree, Royce Allen, Robert Allen, Eloise McFadden, Mary Sue Privatte (sister-in-law), Hudon Marbutt (brother-in-law).
Left to live his legacy are his wife of 67 years, Hilda Allen; son, Steve Allen (Lynne Allen); daughter, Vicki Allen Dolsen (Robert Alan Dolsen); grandchildren Michael Wood (Christina Wood), Brad Allen, Alisha Allen (Kenny Oliver), James Allen Dolsen, Ethan Robert Dolsen (Morgan Dolsen); great-grandchildren Alex Wood and Daniel Wood; sisters Mary Green, Marie (Harold Ryan); in-laws Jane Allen, Tony Privatte, Jerry Marbutt, Doyle (Jeanette Emerson); along with numerous nieces and nephews.
In the last two years he was cared for and loved by an amazing team of caregivers who quickly became family: Clara Bates, Essie Mae Phillips, Veniis Matthews, Robyn Chlebana, Sarah Dielman, Sarah DeGraaf, Gloria Dunbar, Tom Cole, Natalie Johnson.
God also provided amazing care from the body of Christ through Grace Bible Church, Grandville, Michigan and Frontline Bible Church, Byron Center, Michigan.
