
Mr. Carter is survived by his wife of 47 years Eugenia; daughter Janet Marty Amon; son Jon Carter; grandchildren, Julie, Tom, Chrissy, Amon and Lauren, Lydia Carter; also surviving are, sister Susan Carter of Knoxville, TN; brother Claude Edward Carter of Owingville, KY and brother-in-law Bill Foresberg of Lansing.
Jack was a U.S. Navy Lieutenant flying jet aircraft in Korea. He retired after 30 years with Marathon Oil Company. Both Jack and Jean performed volunteer work for Blandford Nature Center, The Van Andel Museum and MADD.
A memorial service will be held 11:30 a.m. Thursday from John Knox Presbyterian Church, 4150 Kalamazoo Ave., Grand Rapids, with Rev. Dave Gilbert and Nancy Clodfelder officiating. In accordance with Mr. Carter's wishes cremation has taken place. Memorial contributions to the Alzheimer's Association would be appreciated.
