Jack Arlon Miedema, age 75, of Grandville, Michigan, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on October 20, 2025, after a courageous battle with Parkinson’s and cancer. Despite the challenges of his health journey over the past four years, Jack faced them all with grace and humor.
Born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, on March 16, 1950, to Albert and Emily Miedema, Jack was a graduate of South Christian High School and Calvin College. He had a lifelong and successful career in real estate sales, brokerage, and education. He was founder and president of Great Lakes Realty Systems for 27 years. In addition to his passion for his work, Jack enjoyed traveling, cooking, reading, and spending time with his beloved family. His extravagant Christmas Eve dinners are some of his and the family’s most cherished memories.
Jack was preceded in death by his father, Albert Miedema, in 2011. He is survived by his mother, Emily Miedema; children, Ryan (Maryjane) Miedema, Jodi (Josh) Juzwik, and Jami (Rob) Mickam; grandchildren Starr (Ethan) Fedij, Alexander Fang, and Alyssa Miedema; and great-grandchildren Clifford Fedij and Maryjane Fedij.
The family will celebrate Jack’s life with a private graveside service at Winchester Cemetery. The family would like to thank Jack’s compassionate team of caregivers: Barb LaTour, Cornerstone Caregiving, and Faith Hospice. The family welcomes memories and messages at www.cookcaresgrandville.com in their guestbook online.
