Jack Scherphorn

SCHERPHORN - Jack Scherphorn, age 76, passed away after a short illness, Wednesday, November 19, 2008. Jack devoted his life to the business of manufacturing, founded, owned and successfully ran Rapid Assembly Inc. since 1989. His commitment and knowledge of owning a business was like none other.

He was preceded in death by his mother Leona Frank Winters and his father Martin Scherphorn; his brother Eugene Scherphorn; and his special friend and brother-in-law Bill Dyer. Jack is survived by Beverly Scherphorn Fate; his son, Mark; his daughter, Kimberly; his grandchildren, Kristen, Heather, Justin Scherphorn, Megann and Taylor Kinney, his sister, Karen Chuck Lass, his sisters-in-law, Shirley Laperna and Betty Dyer, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Saturday, November 22, at the Cook Memorial Chapel in Grandville, 4235 Prairie St. SW east building with visitation prior to the service beginning at 1 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Michigan or Fair Haven Ministries of Hudsonville.
