ABRAMS - James Abrams, age 79 of Byron Center, went to be with his Lord Friday, July 2, 1999. He was preceded in death by his son-in-law Orv Fields. Surviving are his wife of 59 years Alice; his daughters, Julie Cain and Karen Fields; grandchildren, Laurie Rohen, Elizabeth Norm Towers, Steve Amy Cain, Scott Mary Cain, Carl Patty Cain, Jamie Cheri Cain, Michael Michelle Fields, Thomas Cris Fields; 19 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren; sister and brothers-in-law, Helen Melius, Jesse Jones, Eugene Jones, Raymond Jones; cousins, Coby Bustraan and Sue Bergeron. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 1481 Baldwin. The family will receive relatives and friends 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Byron Center Chapel of Cook Funeral Home, 2067 84th St. Memorial contributions may be made to Home of Hope Hospice or the Leukemia Society of America.
