
He was preceded in death by a brother-in-law Peter Karsten. He is survived by his wife Mattie; his children, Roger and Pat Aten, Maxine and Gary Gilchrist, Robert Aten, Bruce and Jan Aten, Kerwin and Jan Aten, Edward and Cindy Aten, Carl and Kris Aten, James B. and Tami Aten, Warren and Pam Aten; 15 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; three brothers, Harvey and Jean Aten, Murl and Barbara Aten, Lee and Doris Aten; three sisters, Emma and Robert Lingenfelter, Margien and William Vander Molen, Dorothy Karsten; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held Tuesday 4 p.m. from the Cook Memorial Chapel east building with Pastor Bruce Osbeck of Faith Reformed Church officiating. Interment Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. The family will meet relatives and friends Monday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. from the Cook Funeral Home west building, 4235 Prairie St. SW, Grandville. Memorial contributions may be made to Faith Reformed Church Food Pantry.
