
PRINGLE - Mr. James Pringle, age 87 of Grandville, passed away Thursday, April 5,2001. Jim was born October 10, 1913 in Crosslee Farm in the South of Scotland. He joined the British Merchant Marines in Scotland at the age of 17. For many years Jim farmed in the South of Scotland. He was a member of the Muskegon Yacht Club for 40 years as well as a life member of the Masonic Lodge of Scotland. His hobbies included sailing, golfing, wood carving, singing, and playing musical instruments. He is survived by his devoted wife Essie; his loving daughter Diane Avram and the light of his life, his granddaughter Erica Avram; his sister Margaret Gibson of Galashiels, Scotland; his nieces, Joyce and Ann of Scotland; his sister-in-law Selma Hagazi of Plymouth, MI; his brothers-in-law, Kallid and Julia Jabara, James and Anita Jabara both of Plymouth, MI, Nayfe Jabara of Petoskey, MI, Abdeen and Holly of New York, NY and several nieces and nephews; special friends, Casey and Edyth Kerkstra of Jenison, MI. The funeral service will be held Thursday, April 12 at 11 a.m. from Cook Memorial Chapel east building. The family will receive relatives and friends Wednesday, April 11 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. at Cook Funeral Home west building 4235 Prairie St. SW, Grandville. Memorials may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or the American Cancer Society. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
