Carol, our deepest sympathy to you and your family. I only met Jim a couple of times, but he seemed like a great guy. The board members and your neighbors always spoke so highly of him. May the Lord sustain you and surround you with his love and mercy in the days and months ahead. We are leaving for Florida tomorrow but we will have you in thoughts and prayers.

Carol and family, my heart goes out to you during this difficult time. My our loving Lord wrap each of you in His arms of love and comfort. I worked with Jim for many years in the Tax Dept. at Amway. He was a super guy and I have many fond memories of those years. One memory, in particular, was when Amway had bring your child to work day. Jim took my little son and daughter under his wing and gave them "jobs" to do and made them feel important. They still fondly remember those experiences to this day. I will always be grateful for his kindness, sense of humor, and friendship. May he rest in peace. He will be missed.

Jim was the ultimate "Tax Guy". I enjoyed his droll sense of humor and respected his passion for his work. We enjoyed hosting the "old Amway crowd" at picnics at his lovely home, for years. Hello, Carol. You and Jim have been my best support group since my move to Europe 13 years ago. Jim was my 'go to' person whom I knew I could trust to give me straight answers to my business questions. I (Gary) had the pleasure of meeting and working with my friend Jim at Amway 15 years ago and I became a customer of his too. From the building in Hudsonville where you endured the fire, to your home office for several years and then back to Hudsonville. We were looking forward to seeing Jim again in the latest venue...we always enjoyed talks of family achievements. So sorry.

 We are saddened by the news of Jim's passing. Not only was he our taxman for many, many years... he knew my family since high school days and always asked how my parents were doing. I worked in Finance with him at Amway for many years, where he was my tax guru on many projects. He loved talking about the military with my husband Gary while we had our taxes done, and swapping good books to read. He was such a great guy, always patient and kind and always made sure everyone was well taken care of. He will be deeply missed by so many people.

Carol, With a heavy heart of learning about Jim's death, my family is sending prayers to you and your family. We will miss him. I had known Jim since 1980 (probably have known you just as long) when we both worked at Amway and he always had a happy heart and a cheerful spirit. We both enjoyed catching up about everyone once a year when he did our taxes. I truly believe Jim is in heaven, and if you haven't read the book "Heaven is Real: A Little Boy's Astounding Story" by Todd, Sonja and Colton Burpo, it gives us a good picture of what heaven is like.

I just found out Jim passed away when sending him a referral. I just talked to him before Christmas and this is a big shock to hear his passing. I knew Jim for about 7 years, & gave him the nickname "The Man From Hudsonville." He was always called me at 8am sharp, whenever he had SUTA questions or concerns. My deepest condolences to the Richmond family and this sad loss.
