Janet M. Elzinga

ELZINGA DeWeerd – Janet M. Elzinga, age 98, of Byron Center, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, July 8, 2008. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, George Elzinga, sister and brother-in-law, Gladys John Alles, brother and sister-in-law, Robert Dorothy Van Singel, sister-in-law Jane Van Singel, and her daughter-in-law, Mary Elzinga.

She will be lovingly remembered by her children, James Lois Elzinga, Allen Elzinga, Marilyn Ronald Nederveld, Daniel Sharon Elzinga, and Rose George Knarr; 19 grandchildren, 49 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren; her brothers, Willard Jo Van Singel, Harry Connie Van Singel, and Gordon Tina Van Singel; in-laws, Elizabeth Harold Jonker, Nancy Elzinga, and Jack Whitcomb; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family wishes to thank Railside Living Center and Faith Hospice for all the extra care and concern for our mom. The funeral service will be held 1 pm Friday at the Byron Center First Reformed Church 8425 Byron Center Ave SW with Rev. Bruce Kuiper officiating. Interment will be at Winchester Cemetery. The family will meet with relatives and friends on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Cook Funeral Home – 2067 – 84th SW, Byron Center.
