

She was preceded in death by her parents Henry and Jenny Poll; sisters Gert VanderLaan, Evelyn Boomstra, Alberta Wilterdink, and Phyl Buys; brothers Fred Poll, and Roland Poll; and great-granddaughter, Taya TerMolen.
She is survived by her loving husband of 73 years, Harvey Aten; their children Larry Aten, Ruth (Bob) Mesbergen, Ken (Judi) Aten, Greg (Gail) Aten, and Jan (Jim) Aukeman; 16 grandchildren Patrick (Carrie) Aten, Julie (Mike) Mieras, Chris Allen, Kim Smith, Ryan (Rebeka) Mesbergen, Ross (Marilyn) Mesbergen, Alison (Steve) Barjactarovich, Eric (Debora Llorat) Aten, Nikki Coy, Justin (Becky) Aten, Kyle Aten, Melia (Mike) Lowry, Jamie (Jacob) Bode, Jerod (Stacey) Aukeman, Janna (Atsen) Bulus, and Jodie (Joshua) Knott; 43 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; sister, Marge Schryer; brother-in-law Ray Buys and sister-in-law Liz Poll; and very special friend Emmaline Marsh.
Jean enjoyed sewing and quilting with her friends at Hillcrest CRC, and she loved camping with her family, campfires and fishing. A special thank you to Jean’s caregivers from Faith Hospice - Amy, Becky and Julie.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, January 21, 2019 at Hillcrest Christian Reformed Church, 3617 Hillcrest Rd., Hudsonville, with one hour of visitation prior to services Monday at church. The family will receive relatives and friends Sunday from 5 - 8 p.m. at the Cook Memorial Chapel (East building), 4235 Prairie St., Grandville.
