Jean S. Hansen

HANSEN Jean S. Hansen, 94, passed away Saturday, July 19, 2014. Jean was born Dec. 31, 1919 in St. Anthony, Idaho to George and Maude Singleton. She grew up and attended schools in St. Anthony. On July 6, 1936 she married Shirl L. Jeffs and they had daughter Shirley Jean Jeffs (Goorhouse). On July 28, 1945 she married William (Bill) Hansen and had two daughters, Jacqueline (Jackie) Lynn (Lemke) and Pamela (Pam) Kay (Gehl). She was preceded in death by Bill and by her oldest grandson Dale G. Goorhouse. Jean was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother. She loved to read, travel, and spend her winters in Arizona.

She is survived by daughters Shirley (Dale) Goorhouse, Jackie Lemke and Pam (Dan) Gehl; stepdaughter Sandra (Michael) Reed and her son, Jimmy Nelson; grandchildren Dan (Chris) Goorhouse, Shelley (Tim) Bauer, Tamara (Jeff) Nuberg, Keith Lemke, Kyle Lemke, Robert (Jessica) Gehl and Steven Gehl. Great grandchildren include, Jordan Goorhouse, Andrew Goorhouse, Alec Goorhouse, Melissa (Todd) Dykman, Brandon Bauer, Tyler Bauer, Erika Bauer, Ana Bauer, Adam Rzepka, Jonathan Rzepka, Alicia Rzepka, Abby (Seth) Taylor, Nicholas Lemke, and Theodor Gehl. She also has five great-great grandchildren, Christian, Julia and Elise Dykman and Jonathan and Noah Green. Jean's older sister Pearl Hood and younger brother Doyle Singleton survive her. Siblings who preceded her in death are Carrie Peterson, Blaine Singleton, Gaile Singleton, Lucille Emerson, and Helen Stevens.

Funeral services will be held Monday, 11 AM at the Cook Memorial Chapel (east building), 4235 Prairie SW, Grandville, with Pastor Timothy Bauer officiating. Interment will be at Grandville Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet Jean's family Sunday from 3-5 PM at the Cook Funeral Home (west building) and Monday from 10 AM until the time of her service at the chapel.
