

Rooks, Jeanne A., born 05-29-35, Jean-Ann Westveer, to William & Jeanette (Heyboer) Westveer, in Grand Rapids, MI. (When about 13 years old, Jeanne modernized her name.) Jeanne joined her Lord and Savior on 09/01/15, after a long experience with Alzheimer's. Jeanne was predeceased by her parents and her brother, Rev. Rodney Westveer. Jeanne is survived by her husband of 55 years, J.F. Girard Rooks, and their four children and their families: Daniel & Debbie Rooks: Joshua, Rachel & Allyson; Wenda & Mark Clifton: Kyle & Tyler; Douglas & Maria Rooks: Autumn, Rebeka, Maya & Gabriella; and Heather & Henry Berghuis: Peter, Hannah, Sarah & Lydia. Jeanne graduated from Calvin College with majors in Elementary Education and Music. Jeanne taught piano lessons privately for many years. In addition to being active in many church functions, Jeanne served as organist, pianist and choir director in churches in Grand Rapids, Chicago, Cincinnati, St. Joseph and Grandville, having begun at the Gold Avenue Chapel at age 13. Jeanne taught at Grand Rapids Westside Christian School, Englewood Christian School in Chicago and at Evergreen Park Christian School, near Chicago. Jeanne was a very creative, strong and adaptable woman, providing all of the office support to her husband's psychiatry practice and assisting with animal husbandry activities when they lived on a farm. Jeanne will be missed by her husband, children, grandchildren and many who were blessed through her life. "A wife of noble character who can find ... She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue ... Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her. (Proverbs 31, the Bible). The family was blessed by the loving care provided by the ladies of Senior Support for four years. A memorial visitation will take place at Cook (West Building) - 4235 Prairie SW, Grandville, MI on Thursday, Sept 3, 2015 from 7 to 9 pm. A memorial service will be held at the Cook Funeral Home (East Building) at 2:00 pm on Saturday, September 5, 2015. There will be a time for fellowship one hour before the service.
