Jennie L. Newman

NEWMAN - Jennie L. Newman, age 90 of Grandville, passed away October 24, 2000 and went to be with her Lord. Jennie was involved with the Grandville Senior Citizen’s Center for many years. She enjoyed camping, fishing and loved helping people. Mrs. Newman was preceded in death by her husband Theodore; two daughters, Maxine Newman and Delores Binney; son Robert Newman; sister Helen Fisk; and brother Fred Hanna. She is survived by her children, Richard Beverly Newman of Grandville, Vonda Jim Wolford of Barryton, Darlene Michael Hinkley Mann of Sand Lake; 14 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren. Also surviving are one brother Lyle Mary Hanna of Kent City; daughter-in-law Dorothy Newman of Stanwood; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. from the Cook Memorial Chapel east building 4235 Prairie St. SW, with Pastor Bob Shellhouse officiating. Interment Hanley Cemetery. The family will meet with relatives and friends Thursday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. from the Cook Funeral Home, Grandville west building. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
