He was preceded in death by his parents Jake and Nellie DeYoung and his sister, Janice Prins. He is survived by loving wife of 34 years, Barb; their son, Josh (Sarah) DeYoung; grandchildren Sadie, Landon, and Hazel; sister, Joyce (Jim) Montgomery; sister-in-law, Helen Osgood; and many cherished family members and friends.
Jerry loved to hunt and fish, especially with his son, Josh. He delighted in sharing fish and summer sausage with others. Barb and Jerry loved the Upper Peninsula and spending time at their cabin in Cadillac. Jerry enjoyed being an “Opa” and spending time with his three grandchildren. One of Jerry’s favorite memories was teaching Sadie how to husk corn. Landon and Jerry had a special bond and Opa was his favorite.
A heartfelt thanks from Barb and Josh, for all the love and support throughout Jerry’s final journey. It takes a village and you have been our village. Thank you.
