

WYN - Joel F. Wyn, age 92, of Byron Center, passed away peacefully at home on October 1, 2014 and went to be with the Lord. Joel was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Cora Wyn; his first wife, Patricia; his second wife, Phyllis; brother Dale Wyn; sisters Maisie Richardson and Yvonne Harley; and brother-in-law Don Harley.
Joel is survived by his sons Gary (Penny) Wyn and Douglas (Michelle) Wyn; grandchildren Tracey Sterken, Wendy (Al Meelker), Eric Wyn, and Brooke (Tim Ebenhoeh); five great-grandchildren; brother-in-law Elroy Richardson; sisters-in-law Inez Wagemaker and Gloria Wyn; dear friend Jean Boynton, as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
Joel was a proud veteran of World War II, and a lifetime member of the American Legion. He participated in veterans' parades each year as well as other military functions. Joel retired from the tool and die industry in 1987, and enjoyed his retirement for many years by spending winters in Florida. He loved to dance, golf and especially enjoyed driving his classic '39 Nash.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 7 at Rush Creek Bible Church, 2334 -76th St., S.W., Byron Center, with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. until the time of service. In accordance with Joel's wishes, cremation has taken place. The family welcomes memories and messages in their online guest book at www.cookcares.com. Memorial contributions in memory of Joel may be made to the American Heart Association.
