We are so blessed that we had John in our lives for many years. The memories we will cherish of road trips and gyms and bleachers are so special because they involved our families. John was so proud of his sons. Carol and his family were his life. He touched us with his sense of humor and kind words. We pray for strength and ever lasting peace.

I knew John for the last two years since I took the job of Area Service Manager with Siemens. John was like me in many ways and he said that at many occasions. I particulary felt close to him due to his work ethics, focus on performance, quality and a fastidious desire for perfection. John told me in the meeting in August 2004 in Fort Lauderdale that he would come and share wine with me in the next meeting by the swimming pool and chat about days past. That can not happen now and I will miss John very much. I will forever remember him as a guide and friend.

I am saddened to hear of John's passing. I had known him for nearly fifty years, all the way back to our holidays as children at Grandma and Grandpa Schippers house. I always knew him to be a man who stood up for what he believed. I will always treasure those memories and in them, for me, John will live on. I am sure he's now back on the old sod, so to you John, I say "Slainte".

I didn't know John very well, having only spent time with him during business meetings and training classes we attended over the last 10 yrs or so. John was a lot of fun to be with after work, always had a good story to tell, and had a real knack with a pool cue. I was saddened to learn of his passing and he will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

I have some fond memories of times with John. He was quite a character as well as a man of character! Whether grounding a house boat on Lake Cumberland or negotiating one more A"last callA" at a bar in Boston, everywhere we went he could mix pleasure with business and keep our team coming back for more. From Florida to California; Arizona to Canada I know the Great Lakes Region of Acuson will always have great memories of John!

I could not have asked for a better uncle than John, and I feel truly blessed to have had him in my life as long as I did. And yet, it wasn't nearly long enough.
 I will always remember his wonderful smile, his great sense of humor and his often delicate handling of some subjects - sometimes too delicate.
 When I was in high school, he used to tell me I looked like Donna Mills from the television show, Knots Landing. Foolishly, I assumed that meant he thought I looked pretty and glamourous. Now, I realize that was his way of telling me I was wearing far too much make-up. Thanks for trying. :
