

He was preceded in death by his wife, Florence Cuperus; brother, Ben Cuperus; sisters-in-law Janet Oosterbaan, Evie Buikema; and nephew, Rick Buikema.
He will be lovingly remembered by his children Larry (Pam) Cuperus, Bonnie (David) Kooistra, Terry (Judy) Cuperus, and Sallie Malcolm; grandchildren Cheryl Porter and Jim, Trecia Cuperus, Melia (Ron) Merrill, Jodi (Kevin) Jenkins, Leslie (Craig) Rush, Kimberly (Andy) TerBeek, and Corry (Sheri) Malcolm; 27 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; brother, Don Buikema; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Emmanuel Hospice and The Laurels of Hudsonville for helping us through dad’s last adventure.
John proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II.
Visitation will be held from 5 - 8 p.m. on Monday, March 4, 2019 at Cook Funeral Home (West building), 4235 Prairie St., S.W., Grandville. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at Cook Memorial Chapel (East building) in Grandville, with visitation one hour prior to service. Pastor Kent Landhuis will be officiating.
