John F. Tafil

He was a well-known custom painter in the area for over 20 years. Painting motorcycles, vans, etc. He retired from Duthler Ford Truck four years ago to enjoy retirement in Florida and life at Sandy Pines in the summer months.

John was born August 9, 1936 in Allegan, MI and passed Tuesday, August 2, 2005 from Esophageal Cancer.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Rosemary and his very artistic grandson, Joel Brown.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Carol Mars; his children, Cynthia Brown of Cape Coral, FL, Scott Julie Tafil of Stanwood, Mike Debi Tafil of Shelbyville; his grandchildren, Jeff Brown, Trey Tafil, Josh Adams, Kaitlyn Tafil, Jason and Kelsey Robinson; his brother, Jerry Tafil of Winter Haven, FL; his sisters, Joan Virgil Grimm of Baldwin and Mary Brainard of Lakeland, FL. He leaves many caring family members and friends who will miss him.

Memorial Service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at Cook Funeral Home - Byron Center 2067 - 84th St. with Rev. Ron Lancaster officiating.

Memorial contributions to Hospice of Michigan.

Visitation 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. Saturday prior to the funeral.
