John VanderWoude

VANDERWOUDE - John VanderWoude, age 82 of Jenison, was called to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Monday, August 28, 2017. John dedicated his entire life to serving God, his family, and the church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his parents Otto and Cornelia VanderWoude; his son Jim VanderWoude; his sister Mrs. Jane Redder; brothers-in-law Mr. Eugene Byker and Mr. William Corson.

He will be lovingly remembered by his beloved wife of 60 years, Arlene VanderWoude; their children Sandra (Rod) Kooiman, Tom (Linda) VanderWoude, and Joan (Bill) Hofman; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; his sisters Mrs. Florence Corson and Mrs. Margaret Byker; and many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be held 11 am Thursday, August 31, at Grandville Protestant Reformed Church, 4320 40th Street, Grandville with Pastor Kenneth Koole officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends Wednesday from 5-8 pm at Cook Memorial Chapel, (East Building), 4235 Prairie St. SW and one hour prior to services on Thursday at church.
