John Atwood Wright

John Atwood Wright, age 77, went to be with his Lord Friday, August 6, 2021. John was preceded in death by his parents Marion Wright and Myrtie Dyer; sisters Louise and Iva; brothers Gary and Richard; sister-in-law, Patricia; brother-in-law, Cash. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Janet; daughters Teresa Boerema, Christine (Ronald) Teekamp, and Shari (Matthew) Hulet; son, David (Sherri) Henning; grandchildren Jamie Henning, Johnathan Spayde, Nicolas (Brittney) Cole, Jacob Boerema, Brian and Kyla Herrmann, Cara Bowden, Trisha (Michael) Hansen, Jordan Teekamp; great-grandchildren Joseph Teekamp, Skye Cole, Atlee Cole, Elsa Hansen, Elin Hansen, Emilia Hansen; brothers Michael Wright and LeRoy (Becky) Wright; sisters Bonnie Wright, Judy (Lester) Ottinger; sisters-in-law, Jackie Henning, Cheryl (Gregory) DeVries; several nieces, nephews, and friends.

John was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. John worked at General Motors - Fisher Body in Wyoming for 32.4 years and at Auto - Wares in Grandville for 20 years. John was an absolute joy to his family. He spent many days in the pool teaching all of his grandchildren how to swim. He loved his years bowling in the General Motors league. John had lots of hobbies he enjoyed - working in his garden, going fishing for a day, working on his cars, playing his guitar and drums. John was a wonderful man and was always willing to help anyone when or if they needed it.

Visitation with relatives and friends will be held from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. Tuesday, August 10, 2021 at Cook Funeral Home (West building), 4235 Prairie St. SW, Grandville, MI 49418.
