
Jo retired from Roger’s Department Store after serving customers for 27 years in the children’s department.
She was an accomplished organist until suffering a stroke in 1996.
She was a devoted grandmother and great-grandmother who dedicated her time and love to her family.
Jo was preceded in death by her husband James Adrian, Sr.; and grandson Keith Velting.
She will be lovingly missed by her children, Joy Harold Dekkenga, Joan David Velting, Jane Steve Fennema, and Jim Diane Vander Giessen; 14 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren and one expected soon; her sister-in-law Bea Ebels; and several nieces and nephews.
Jo’s family wishes to thank Brookcrest Nursing Home staff for their love and care tending to her the past 8 years.
The funeral and committal service for Jo will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 14th at Rush Creek Bible Church 2334 76th Street SW in Byron Center, with Pastor Gary Leyendecker officiating.
The family will meet with relatives and friends on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Cook Funeral Home, 1889 Baldwin Street in Jenison.
