Ken Arends, age 55, passed away peacefully on August 29, 2026, surrounded by his wife and children after a courageous battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Kelly Arends; sons Kyle, Jacob, and Ryan Arends; parents Thomas and Barbara Arends; siblings Tim (Laura) Arends and Diane (Robb) Abbaduska; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Ken was an avid outdoorsman. He loved to hunt, fish, and spend time in nature. He worked as a physical therapist for over 25 years. During this time he had a positive impact on so many, and often built lasting relationships with his patients. He was well-known in the clinic for his easygoing nature and his sense of humor. The biggest joy in Ken’s life was his family. He and his wife, Kelly, had recently celebrated their 30 year anniversary. Their love that began in college only grew stronger over the years. Ken was very proud of his three sons. He treasured spending time with each of them, enjoying their shared interests together, and supporting them in all of their endeavors. He enjoyed sharing his love of sports and the outdoors with those around him. He was often doing this around the grill or campfire, which was where he was most comfortable spending time. He also had many special relationships with extended family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all.
